About
The Laufman-Greatbatch Transformational Impact Award is the AAMI Foundation’s most prestigious honor. Named after two pioneers in the HTM field, Harold Laufman, MD and Wilson Greatbatch, PhD, this award recognizes individuals or groups whose work has made unique, significant, and lasting contributions to healthcare technology, advancing innovation and patient safety worldwide. Recipients are recognized not only for technical achievement, but also for the transformational impact of their work on patient safety, innovation, and the healthcare technology field as a whole. Work may include contributions such as advancing systems, standards leadership with direct impact on patient care and safety.
Eligibility
Nominees should have demonstrated long-term, transformational contributions to innovation and patient safety. Open to individuals or groups in healthcare technology including medical device fields. Both self-nominations and nominations by others are accepted.
